Who do we help?
Volunteers from the Debenham First Responders team will be called to emergencies within about a six kilometre (3.5mile) radius of Debenham.
First Responders aim to arrive on scene as quickly and safely as possible after being alerted to an incident via the ambulance service mobile phone. We should be able to arrive at most addresses within 3 to 8 minutes.
Who are we?
First Responder Schemes are an additional valuable resource but do not in any way replace existing emergency ambulance services.
The Debenham First Responder scheme is made up from volunteers who live or work within the community and have been trained to attend certain 999 calls in support of the East of England Ambulance Service. Their purpose is to provide first aid, including oxygen therapy and cardiac defibrillation if required, until the ambulance service arrives.
